First dedicated eStore for Woolworths NZ
AAE has a long standing relationship with Woolworths New Zealand (WWNZ) and have been involved in many projects over their twenty plus year history. To date, AAE have installed and supported over 300 PA and background music systems throughout New Zealand.
AAE were invited to be part of WWNZ's first dedicated Countdown eStore from which 'Click and Collect' grocery orders would be picked, packed and dispatched, and they jumped at the chance to be involved. The project commenced in the last quarter of 2019, however, in the early part of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the delivery dates were brought forward with some urgency and the project was completed in March 2020. This couldn't have come at a more opportune time as social distancing rules and complete lockdown into Level 4 for New Zealand meant that it had become even more important and relevant to have this store up and running. Whilst the majority of New Zealanders' were well versed at using online shopping as a tool, it suddenly became a real necessity, especially for the most vulnerable.
AAE's part of the project was to install the Toa PE304 pendant speakers across the 8800m2 floor, and the public address system. There were tight timelines to adhere to (as there often are with construction projects) as well as travel and logistics restrictions due to New Zealand being placed under lockdown conditions for the first time in the COVID pandemic. Despite these conditions AAE rose to the challenge and were part of the team that ensured that Countdown were able to provide an online solution to New Zealanders during these uncertain times, as the COVID-19 pandemic was spreading throughout the world.
Countdown's eStore Manager Martyn Douglas commented:
We needed a system to provide a public address as well as background music for our 8800m2 building. AAE provided a seamless and efficient installation of a speaker and PA system in the building. We were really happy with the installation process and the quality of the system installed; they are well-versed in this area. We wanted to create a great environment for our team by having music but also want to be able to communicate to our team effectively, and this system allows us to do that really well.
