What We Offer

Back in 1996, Greg Lay wished to create a company offering all the smarts required of a leading Audio-Visual consultancy, whilst keeping alive the spark in every AV engineer he employed. Greg brought together a team of engineers who offered an unparalleled depth of knowledge plus the passion that makes all the difference to the end-user experience.
Twenty or so years later, Australasian Audio Engineering still love what we do.

At AAE we combine our passion for all things audio-visual with our ability to listen to our clients.
We invest significant time and energy at the beginning of every project listening to what it is that you want to achieve. With a clear picture of your objectives, we consistently return to your goals to inform every decision that is made in the design, installation, commissioning and ongoing support of your project.

We support a nationwide network of installation and service technicians who hold certifications in the system design and implementation of most globally recognised product suites. Our team’s qualifications include Crestron® Commercial System Design, Platinum Level Programming qualifications for RTI control systems, Biamp – Vocia, Tesira, Forte and Server Audio Digital Signal Processing (DSP) systems and Q-SYS Designer.

Khalid Naseem

Chief Executive

Khalid describes himself as an experienced General Manager, COO and CTO with hands on experience in all areas of management from strategy to delivery; working in the fields of IoT, IT, Web, Power Utilities, Telecommunications, Media and all things Digital.

We describe him as the guy who has come on board to help us grow to our next level of capability, creating a strategy for sustained growth and improving our already strong team culture.

Rob Inskeep

Managing Director

Rob’s background is in research and innovation, security, risk and project management. He has developed service delivery models for a significant New Zealand corporate and brings the same eye for ‘outside the box’ approaches to AAE. Rob loves the opportunity to sit and listen to our clients, finding out how they do business and what they want from their technology. He then works with our team to ensure the functional requirements are matched with the latest technology to deliver the best possible results for our clients.

Steve Smith

Sales Manager

Steve has been involved in Commercial AV sales and design for over a decade. Specialising in the Corporate and Tertiary sectors, he has been responsible for building a diverse range of tailored solutions for a broad range of clients. With over a thousand meeting and training rooms systems deployed, he bears the battle scars of a seasoned designer and brings that experience to each solution he creates. Steve understands that focussing on the delivery of fit-for-purpose systems that score highly on the benefit-cost ratio, understanding your business drivers and approaching a solution from a partnership perspective is essential to meeting our customers’ expectations.

Chris Bradley

AV Design & Programming

Chris is tasked with making the magic inside the boxes happen. He has a fantastic understanding of how to get the best out of our Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) and has a knack for programming the abstraction layer between what our customers see on their control screens, and the complexities of switching technologies in the back end. Chris is a core member of our design team and brings his wide range of experience to any problem we put in front of him. He has a qualification in Film & Television and a background in broadcasting, live sound and project coordination. Chris is an avid technology fan and musician.

Greg Lay

Relationship Manager

Greg has spent his professional life working with sound, entertainment audio and background music systems. As founder of the business, Greg has nurtured the relationships with our key accounts and grown the company into one of the leading commercial audio installation companies in New Zealand. He has introduced new technologies and innovative audio solutions to the business, pushing boundaries in the delivery of outstanding commercial sound for our clients. Greg has long-established relationships with business owners, consultants and suppliers throughout New Zealand and overseas, facilitating impressive solutions and service for our customers.

Amanda Inskeep

Finance Director

Amanda is our resident bean counter, and not just the coffee beans! She keeps AAE organised, managing all our financial, legal, human resources and operations workflow, systems and processes, including contract administration and costings. As a public practice accountant with over 20 years’ experience in business advisory services, Amanda ensures our team has the flexibility to expand and deliver the very best future for the company.

Jessica Rodgers

Operations Assistant

Jess has a background in Customer Service and Administration and looks after all our service related calls and general administration to keep us in order. She is our Health & Safety Administrator and is the primary point of contact for all Health & Safety communications. Jess has a great rapport with our customers and suppliers and enjoys the daily contact with our team around the country, keeping the wheels turning smoothly.

Quinton Gordon

Lead AV Technician

As our lead Technician, Quinton brings a wealth of experience in Audio-Visual, Nurse Call, Security/CCTV and MATV installations. He is expert at working in trading retail sites and commercial project sites alike.  We frequently receive feedback from other trades about what a pleasure it is to work with him on site.
